Donald Trump has claimed Iran “agreed they will never have a nuclear weapons”.

Speaking to reporters while swearing in Markwayne Mullin as new Homeland Security Secretary, he said Iran was “talking to us and they’re talking sense.”

He continued: “It all starts with they cannot have a nuclear weapon,” adding: “I don’t want to say in advance, but they’ve agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon. They’ve agreed to that.”

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, did not specify where in the Middle East the troops would go and when they would arrive in the region. The soldiers are stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

U.S. troops from Fort Bragg are set for an unspecified deployment to the Middle East amid heightened tensions, supplementing recent naval deployments, as President Trump claims Iran has agreed never to pursue nuclear weapons despite conflicting reports about talks between the two nations.
