STEUBENVILLE $5M PLEDGE POWERS AI BATTLE PLAN
Franciscan University of Steubenville has launched a new AI and Human Flourishing Chair, backed by a $5 million pledge from trustee Dr. Dan McMahon and his wife, Nancy, and is now searching nationally for a scholar versed in AI and Catholic teaching. The move drops the school into a fierce debate over whether machine power can be guided without eroding human dignity, with the chair meant to help shape how the Church and society confront what comes next.
