A church service in Colombia turned into a terrifying race for the door when a powerful Aug. 10 quake hit just after consecration, sending stained-glass windows shaking as Father Oscar Aguirre calmly seized the Blessed Sacrament and ordered worshippers out in an orderly exit. The priest’s quick action spared the faithful, but the damage was real: the church tower partially collapsed, part of the cupola came down, and bricks crashed through the ceiling inside.
