Sarah Mullally, the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, has dropped a pointed hint that the Church’s ban on female ordination is, in her view, an injustice — after her private audience with Pope Leo XIV in Rome. Speaking at the Venerable English College, the Anglican leader sidestepped direct questions about whether she had raised the ministry of women with the Pope, but made clear she sees part of her role as “speaking out where there is injustice,” while insisting she is “not a politician.”
