HAWLEY SLAMS ABORTION DRUG GIANTS WITH FEDERAL PROBE
WASHINGTON — In his latest effort to curb the use of mifepristone for abortions, U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., is launching an investigation into two major manufacturers of the drug: Danco Laboratories and GenBioPro.
On Thursday, Hawley sent letters to both companies informing them of the investigation and requesting a range of documents, including those related to mifepristone’s safety, marketing and manufacturing.
“Mounting evidence suggests that mifepristone poses grave risks to women,” Hawley wrote. “Yet your company has continued to profit from the widespread distribution of this drug, even as serious questions have emerged about hemorrhage, infection, sepsis and other dangerous complications associated with its use.”
U.S. Sen.
