Pope Leo XIV has tapped Indian nun Sister Maria Nirmalini, Superior General of the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel, for a five-year consultor role in the Vatican body overseeing consecrated life — a clear sign women religious are gaining a louder seat near the center of Church power.
