A Virginia federal court has blasted abortion-pill restrictions as “unlawful,” ruling the FDA’s limits on mifepristone were “arbitrary and capricious” and ordering the Trump administration to take another look — a sharp rebuke in a fight that could reshape access to the most common abortion drug. Judge Robert S. Ballou said the agency has repeatedly found mifepristone safe and effective, even as abortion opponents have pushed for tighter rules on prescribing, pharmacy certification and patient counseling. The decision does not kill the restrictions outright, but it puts the Trump administration back on the defensive in a high-stakes battle over abortion access and federal power.
