Berlin Pride turned grim Saturday night after a vehicle apparently plowed into a crowd near the Brandenburg Gate, leaving many injured and several in life-threatening condition, police said. The attack-like chaos shattered what had been a peaceful gathering of hundreds of thousands at one of Europe’s biggest Pride events, with emergency crews rushing victims at Tiergarten and police scrambling to hunt for suspects as the celebration was abruptly halted.
