TRUMP BLOCKS KURDISH WAR PUSH
US President Donald Trump said Saturday he didn’t want Kurdish fighters from Iraq to join the war against Iran, after previously expressing support for the idea. “I don’t want the Kurds to go into Iran… They’re willing to go in, but I’ve told them I don’t want them to go in… encouraging such action.
US President Donald Trump reversed his earlier support for Kurdish fighters joining the war against Iran, stating on Saturday that he did not want Kurds entering the conflict due to its complexity and to avoid their casualties. This came after he had initially expressed enthusiasm for Kurdish involvement, even reportedly discussing it with Kurdish leaders. The shift in stance occurred as the US-Israeli conflict with Iran entered its second week and amid reports that the US was encouraging Iranian Kurdish forces in Iraq to launch an offensive.
