A Texas judge who was disciplined for refusing to officiate same-sex weddings has won $640,000 after a court found she was protected under the state Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The ruling sharpens the clash between religious liberty and judicial neutrality, and could fuel fresh fights over whether judges may decline some ceremonies while still performing others.
