Six members of the Congrégation de Riaumont, including three priests and the former prior Alain Hocquemiller, are set to appear in court in Béthune on April 14, accused of violence against minors under fifteen from 2007 to 2019. The case, involving over thirty alleged victims, may be transferred to a panel of judges due to its complexity, with the initial hearing expected to address procedural issues. This religious community, founded in the 1960s and linked to the Benedictine Abbey of Fontgombault, faces serious charges under French law for abuse committed by those in positions of authority.
