MOTHER CABRINI’S HEART… POPE LEO PAYS TRIBUTE
Pope Leo XIV on June 20 venerated the relic of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini’s heart in her northern Italian hometown, after praying at St. Augustine’s tomb in Pavia and drawing crowds to Sant’Angelo Lodigiano. He said Cabrini’s life, turned from China to migrant labor in America, still hits hard as nations wrestle with immigration and duty.

This holiday in Croatia, also called Anti-Fascism Day, dates back to the Second World War. After Nazi Germany invaded and conquered Yugoslavia in 1941, Croatia became a German puppet state under a government of Croatian fascists, called the Ustaše.
