Iran is slamming the door on any short-term ceasefire, declaring it will accept nothing less than a sweeping end to the fighting “from Lebanon to the Red Sea” — a hard red line from Tehran as the conflict spirals across the region. Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said Friday there will be no temporary deal, only a comprehensive settlement, even as Pakistan pushes mediation and Iran says it still wants the Strait of Hormuz kept open, with possible new security arrangements.

Iran draws a red line—no temporary truce, and the entire region could ignite again.
