Big legal blow for Live Nation: a New York jury ruled Wednesday that the concert giant and its Ticketmaster arm ran an illegal monopoly, handing dozens of states a major victory in the fight over sky-high ticket prices and crushed competition. The case, driven by claims that Live Nation strangled consumer choice and controlled too much of the live-entertainment pipeline, now hangs over a separate $280 million DOJ settlement already rejected by 34 states — and could force even tougher consequences ahead.
