Donald Trump has suggested the Iran war may end soon as he claimed the US is “getting very close” to achieving its objective in the Middle Eastern country. In a message shared on the Truth Social platform on Friday, the US President also said his country won’t be at the forefront of policing the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil route currently being choked by Iran in response to the US and Israeli operation, after the conflict.

He wrote: “We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry.

Donald Trump claimed the US is nearing its goals in weakening Iran’s military capabilities and may soon wind down its efforts in the Middle East, emphasizing the destruction of Iran’s missile systems, defense industry, navy, and air force, while ensuring the country never obtains nuclear weapons. He also vowed to protect key Middle Eastern allies like Israel and Saudi Arabia and suggested that the US would step back from policing the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has been disrupting in retaliation for joint US-Israeli strikes labeled Operation Epic Fury. This ongoing tit-for-tat conflict has escalated tensions and contributed to global energy price surges.
